Metastatic Breast Cancer is considered to be incurable and yet it is a form of breast cancer which is largely ignored by breast cancer non-profits, the media and the research community.  Approximately 3% of breast cancer research funding is allocated to Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) and yet 30% of those who are diagnosed with early stage breast cancer will have a progression of their cancer and become Stage IV.  Another 10% of those diagnosed with breast cancer will already be Stage IV.

MBC is defined by the spread of the cancer from the breast to distant parts of the body - characteristically to the bones, liver, lungs and brain. 

​

Inspired Metastatic Breast Cancer Advocacy is a small group that comes up with ideas for MBC advocacy, and because we are not a formal group we can respond more quickly than those groups with committees.  If anyone has an idea some or all of us can join in by signing petitions, writing letters, commenting on news items or a facebook page of a person or organisation we want to influence.
